Ibrahim Kaya

Senior Backend Engineer · Tech Lead

I build event-driven backend systems with Java and Kafka. For the last four years I have worked on the delivery domain of Migros One as a consultant through StartupHeroes — courier assignment, real-time courier tracking and the platforms behind the courier app and the operations back-office — and I have led its backend since 2025.

Focus

What I am good at

Event-driven systems

Kafka consumers that survive bad events: non-blocking retries, dead-letter topics, idempotent processing and replay tooling for operations.

Domain decoupling

Pulling shared domains out of busy services with CDC replicas, read-only APIs first and config-gated, reversible write migrations.

Operational platforms

Courier assignment, real-time location alerting and the BFFs that operations teams rely on every minute of the day.

Multiplying the team

Heavy code review, RFCs and ADRs, incident write-ups and a backlog that other engineers can pick up and run with.
